Are you required to take a minimum IRA distribution in 2006 or 2007?

Assign all or part of the distribution to LARC as a Charitable Donation. Save a bundle on taxes. It’s that easy.

Congress has just passed a new law called The Pension Protection Act of 2006. This new law makes it easier than ever to give to your favorite charity. In a nutshell:

• Minimum required IRA distributions (ages 70 & up) can now be directly given to charitable organizations (up to $100,000).

• Your distribution is transferred directly from your IRA to LARC.

• Your gift bypasses the adjusted gross income calculation on your tax return.

This is a great benefit! Here’s why:

• You pay no taxes on your required IRA distribution.

• The resulting lower adjusted gross income (AGI) can put you in a lower tax bracket, and may result in less Social Security benefits being subject to federal income taxes. There’s a whole host of other tax benefits triggered by a lower AGI. Consult your tax advisor for your particular situation.

• An additional benefit if you can’t itemize is, you get the same tax-free benefit as itemizersby assigning your minimum distribution to charity.

Hurry!! Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support a great organization. (This rule applies to tax years 2006 & 2007 only.)

A testimonial regarding the process from one of LARC’s board members:
“It’s a no brainer. Ask your banker or broker to give you a minimum distribution form, and fill it out with instructions to send a check direct to LARC. Took 5 minutes.”
